Caterham – 1.6L EcoBoost

Richard Aley has just completed converting his Caterham to the 1.6L EcoBoost using our MBE9A6 DI ECU and wiring harness programmed to run the standard engine. The engine is equipped with our EcoBoost dry sump system, which is always recommended by SBD for track use.  He also has the new MBE9MD display. He has done the complete installation himself, fabricating the majority of the components. BTB manufactured the exhaust system for him. He came to see us at the workshop and we gave the car a quick check over and a drive out to ensure everything was functioning correctly. Richard is very pleased with the performance and impressed with the acceleration, the engine kit produces 290lbft at 3000rpm and 226bhp at 5500rpm. Richard is now looking forward to getting it on the track.
